About Tamara Benjamin
Meet Tamara Benjamin, owner and beauty professional behind Making Faces.
While in school for Aesthetics, she gained interest in permanent makeup. Her instructor recommended that course of study in order to give Tamara the professional edge. She pursued training with Melanie Whitney, a renowned micro-pigmentation artist in Florida. After training with Melanie, she launched her career in aesthetics and began to demonstrate her artistic abilities.
As Tamara built her business within the Crystal Coast community, she took a special interest in cancer patients and other clients who suffered from alopecia, an illness that results in the loss of facial hair. By applying her skills with permanent makeup, she has helped numerous clients recreate their eyebrows and apply eyeliner.
I really had no idea what affect this would have on me or the community, but helping my clients look and feel better is a hugely rewarding experience.
She has also developed a huge following among local and destination brides who admire her work. She is one of the few make up artists in the region who will travel to the bride’s location.
She is committed to her clients and her business, and when not at her shop in Newport, NC, she is usually taking continued education classes to stay on top of the latest trends in her ever-changing field.
I absolutely love what I do, and feel that it shows in my work. Sometimes I’m even offered a hug when finished with a client because they are so overwhelmed with my work. It feels great to offer a service that helps my clients keep their youthful appearance.
With more than 1,800 clients throughout her over-10 year career, the reputation speaks for itself!
